In the past, Los Angeles County has operated several agencies responsible for law enforcement duties in various areas.
These agencies have since been consolidated into the Los Angeles County Office of Public Safety.
The Los Angeles County Office of Public Safety is commonly referred to as County Police or Safety Police. Made
up of several bureaus and separate from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, OPS is responsible for law enforcement
services to county facilities, public hospitals and county parks.
The Los Angeles County Probation Department was established to enforce California probation laws within the county. Among
the Probation Department's duties are enforcement of court orders, recommending court sanctions, and operation of juvenile
detention centers.
I have also collected a few patches that represent other Los Angeles County agencies. Those patches are also shown
in this page.
