These are my patches from the Los Angeles Police Department. The LAPD is one of the largest municipal police departments
in the United States with over 9,000 sworn members. They police a city spread out over 468 square miles and covers ares
such as South Los Angeles (formerly known as South Central LA) and the Hollywood Hills. The LAPD, established in 1869,
now operates out of 22 patrol divisions and is has its headquarters in Parker Center in downtown Los Angeles.
LAPD patrol officers do not wear shoulder patches, however members of certain units are authorized to wear patches.
